Whether it’s intricate patterns on fabric, monochromatic patterns on cement tiles, or lovely patterns on vintage rugs, we’re obsessed. So when we heard adhesive rhinestone jewels were this month’s Craft Supply of the Month, we knew we wanted to use patterns! We’re showing you how to transform a simply wrapped present with these rhinestone jewels.
To create our patterns, we first sorted through the assorted jewels and made piles of certain colors and shapes. After creating the flower patterns, we thought it was time to try a more geometric, southwestern inspired motif. You can even create gift tags with a jeweled pattern along the bottom!
Wrap your present in the white paper or kraft paper. Then start to lay your design out on the top of the box. Once you’re happy with your design, peel the paper off the back side of the self-adhesive jewels and stick on wrapping paper. Here’s a hint: It’s good to find a cleared-off space like a table top to start playing around with patterns and colors.
Add some pretty satin ribbon to add even more color if you want.
Pattern Tip: start in the center of the top of the gift and build out. We found this the easiest way to create a beautiful pattern. It’s easy to use a ruler and mark your center lines.
