"The Letter of the Day" is P! And "P" is for PARTY! This cute DIY Sesame Street party backdrop is also cute with the letter of the day as the first letter of the child's name. It comes together easily with a bright balloon garland (easier than you think) and black bulletin board letters and is the perfect backdrop for a Sesame Street Birthday Party.

Here is where you get to decide if you'd rather save or spend an extra $5. In order to spell out: "The Letter Of The Day Is P" you need two packs of black bulletin board letters. If you buy one pack, you will be missing one H and one T. I only had one pack, so I traced an extra H and T on a sheet of black adhesive paper that I had lying around. I cut out the extra letters with scissors and you would never know the difference. Or you could just buy two packs of letters. So this step simply depends on your preference!

Using tape loops, arrange your letters above the party table, taping them to the wall. Unfold a small yellow paper fan, and add the letter P (or the first letter of your child's name) to it with a few tape loops.

Tape a fun paper fan from the Sesame Street party decorating kit to the wall. Layer the yellow paper fan with the "P" on top.

It's balloon garland time! Separate the red, blue, and yellow balloons from a standard latex balloon assortment. If you can get your hands on a Balloon Decorating Strip - it will make your life a whole lot easier. These long plastic strips have holes in them that allow you to pull the knot of the inflated balloon through, creating a simple garland. If you can't find this strip - I have a tutorial for a DIY Balloon Garland from my panda party you can check out. Create your red, yellow, and blue balloon garland and tape it above your party table. TIP: I used a combination of tape and fishing wire to get my balloon garland in the right spot.
