When it comes to planning my sons’ birthday parties, I like to get them involved as much as possible. So, when I decided to make this DIY Sewer Slime for my 7-year-old son’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party I knew it was a fun project they could help out with. They loved helping mom and getting a little messy too!
Fill a small bowl with 1 cup of water and add the 2 tablespoons of borax powder. Mix until the borax is fully dissolved in the water.
In a separate, medium-sized bowl, mix 1/2 Cup Elmer’s Glue and 1/2 cup of water.
Add approximately 10-15 drops of green food coloring and mix. You can always add more if you would like the slime to be a darker green!
Add in as much glitter as you (or the kiddos) would like! The more glitter, the more that sewer slime will shine!
Next, add in the borax and water mixture to the glittery glue and watch the magic begin!
Mix with your hands, or have the little hands helping you, get in there and mix away! The more the slime is handled, the more gel-like and firm it will become (This is when my little one decided mommy should mix it so he wouldn’t have to get messy).
Once the slime is a bit firm, you can transfer it into your Short Jars.
Cut an 8″ x 1″ strip of either red, blue, orange or purple Gigantic Fantastic Felt to represent the Ninja Turtle colors. Wrap it around the Short Jar and secure with hot glue.
Hot glue two Black Googly Eyes onto the felt. Your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sewer Slime Favor is complete!
