I love making our home cozy for the holidays with a few pieces of festive decor. Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday, so I made this "Thankful" banner to hang in our kitchen. The sturdy wood banner squares make them decor-worthy and the garland can be easily stored away to be used again next year. Hang this banner in your dining room for the perfect backdrop for your Thanksgiving meal.
To create a "THANKFUL" banner, paint eight of the wood banner squares brown, and four of the pieces white using acrylic craft paint and a foam brush. If you want to create a shorter banner, you can choose a different word or divide the garland into two pieces such as "GIVE THANKS". The wood banner squares come in a pack of 12.
Use the large white adhesive letters to spell out THANKFUL on the brown painted wood banner pieces.
Use the fall stencils and craft paint to add your favorite nature shapes to the white painted banner squares. I taped the stencils in place with painter's tape and then used a foam brush with an up-and-down dabbing motion to stencil.
String your stencils together using jute twine and hang. I hung ours in our kitchen along with my yarn pumpkin garland. This would also look great hung on a dining room wall for the big Thanksgiving meal!
