Create this magical DIY table runner for your Pastel Unicorn Birthday Party! This braided unicorn mane with sweet jewel and star embellishments is sure to make the kids smile. Better yet, it's sturdy and resilient against young inquiring hands and inexpensive to put together.
Fold each table cover lengthways until it is approximately 3 inches in width. Then place the 3 table covers together in preparation for braiding.
Lay the table covers on the table in order to braid. At the center point measure the diameter of the Unicorn Sparkle Centerpiece. The centerpiece will be placed in the middle of the braided runner so this portion of the table covers will not be braided. Then, at each end of the portion you have measured, secure the table covers together with tape. This is similar to using a hair band at the top of a ponytail before braiding.
You are now ready to braid. Start from one of the secured middle points braid the table covers as you would hair. Take the left cover and fold over the center cover, then take the right cover and fold over the center, take the left...and continue. Once you are close to the end secure the ends of the braid with tape, leaving a small portion of the covers unbraided at the very ends (again like a hair braid). Repeat this process on the other side of your runner.
Next, take the Plumeria Flower Hair Clips and attach these to the taped pieces of the braid. There are 2 center points and 2 ends to attach flowers. Slide the clip through the tape to attach the flower. There is room to attach 2 flowers at each taped point. You'll have a total of 8 flowers on the entire runner. We will use the remaining flowers on the DIY Unicorn Cake Topper.
Add the Pastel Princess Mix Jewels to the braided portion of the tablecloths. Remove the adhesive backing and press directly onto the tablecloths.
Note: For an "under 3" party I advise not to use the gemstone embellishments as there is a choking hazard at this age.
Cut a selection of stars from the Gold Glitter Star Garland. I used the smaller of the two sizes on this garland. Using a glue dot, adhere the gold stars directly onto the braided portion of the table runner.
Finally, prepare the Unicorn Sparkle Centerpiece as per the supplied instructions and place in the center of the braid. Once the centerpiece is in place you are ready to set the table.
