Looking for a way to set your party table apart this holiday? We've got just the thing: a DIY Valentine Heart Ornament Tree Centerpiece! The best part about this festive and colorful project is that you can use it year after year, and you can even customize the concept to suit any holiday you'd like (in fact, you can see how we made it work for Easter here!). The step-by-step tutorial is below.
Trim the included string hangers off the DIY Unfinished Wood Heart Ornaments and discard, then paint the ornaments each a different Valentine's Day color using Americana Acrylic Paint Value Pack, a Foam Paint Brush, and a clean Paint Palette. Paint 24 Unfinished Wood Mini Hearts white using the same paint, palette, and brush. Allow the painted ornaments and mini hearts to dry for 20 minutes, and then apply a second coat of paint, if needed.
Allow the finished painted hearts to cure for 1 hour before handling. Then, use E6000 Adhesive to attach two white-painted mini hearts—one on the front, and one on the back—on each of the painted heart ornaments. Allow the glued hearts to dry for 3-4 hours before handling.
Cut strips of Natural Jute Cording, roughly 6 inches in length, and knot them through the holes of the heart ornaments.
Place your Ceramic Vase Set in the center of your holiday party table, and fill the vessels with sticks (we gathered ours right from the yard!). Finally, loop the heart ornaments over the branches to complete the centerpiece.
