Don’t be shy—it’s okay to admit that you’ve gotten into the habit of leaving your beloved everyday jewelry pieces in a heap on your nightstand! Sometimes it’s just easier to drop these delicate pieces right by your bedside rather than traipsing over to a full sized jewelry box across the room. The good news though is that it’s both easy and affordable to create a pint-sized jewelry organizer that you can keep within easy reach. Our handmade DIY Washi Tape Jewelry Box sports a conveniently small silhouette, plus a surprise colorful felt lining and box top, too. Find out how to make your own using our instructions below!
Find a round object that fits inside the DIY Round Ceramic Boxes, such as a cup, and place it rim side down on a sheet of Gigantic Fantastic Felt to match your chosen pattern of Primary Patterned Washi Tape. Trace the round object onto the felt with a permanent marker.
Cut the traced round shape out of the felt using scissors.
Coat the underside of the round piece of felt with Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. Press it firmly into the bottom of your DIY Round Ceramic Box.
Cut short individual lengths of Primary Patterned Washi Tape using scissors, and lay them in an end-to-end pattern so that they cover the top of the DIY Round Ceramic Box completely. Be sure to line up the design of the tape for a seamless look. Press firmly to ensure that the tape is tightly in place.
Use a razor blade to slowly and carefully trim the excess tape away from the edges of the box top. Discard the loose tape trimmings.
Allow the glued felt to dry for at least 1 hour. Finally, place your favorite jewelry pieces inside the boxes and display them on your vanity or dresser tabletop!
