We might just be in love with the watercolor trend right now. It’s an easy, affordable way to customize your projects. Just gather up your watercolor supplies, and you’ll be painting all over town – including on the envelopes for your bridal shower invitations! Envelope liners are pretty, but they can be expensive and difficult to use. To solve these problems, we decided to paint directly on our envelopes. Luckily, it worked beautifully and was so easy to do!
Get your watercolors ready by adding water to the colors you want to use. If you want to mix some colors, you can easily do so on a dish. We found that we were working fast enough and on a small enough project, that our colors mixed together, on their own, just beautifully.
Then, simply paint the inside of your envelope, just where you would commonly see an envelope liner. Prop open the envelope to keep the top of from touching the bottom while you paint and dry the inside. Also, avoid the envelope’s seal if you are still going to use it when mailing your invitations.
Mix and match the colors to see what pretty combinations you can make!
Repeat until you have all of your envelopes customized with their own unique watercolor liner. It makes the perfect liner for a black and white invitation and adds even more fun to a colorful invitation. You just can’t go wrong with such a pretty envelope!
