Whether you're headed out on the town for trick-or-treating, or staying in for a Howl-O-Ween Bash, these DIY Werewolf Ears Headbands will have your littles looking paws-itively adorable! They're so cute, I'm sure you won't be able to resist wearing a pair and howling at the moon right along with them!
Using the DIY Wolf Ears template as a guide, cut out the various pieces of felt and faux fur. Be sure to cut the brown outer ear pieces on the fold of the felt, so they are like little pockets. To give the fur a little differentiation, cut the off white middle ear pieces with the grain so the hair flows down, and cut the black so the hair flows out to the sides. Flipping the inner ear shape upside down will allow the hair to flow left or right. You will also need to trim the Chenille Stems into approximately 5 1/2 inch pieces.
Once you have the bow pieces cut, snip a small slit in the middle of the flat ends, then cross the two pieces over each other and glue so each piece has a slight pucker. This will give the bows a little more dimension. Glue the two bow pieces together by overlapping the points, and then glue the oval piece on top to form the center.
To keep the ears from becoming too bulky, use the center ear pattern to cut and hollow out the middle of the off white piece of fur. This will leave you with wishbone shaped pieces and allow for the black center pieces to fit inside them perfectly.
To attach the ears to the Black Headbands, open the felt part of the ear and place the headband inside, right along the fold, and apply hot glue. Add the chenille stem piece to the backside of the ear, and then fold and hot glue the felt ear closed. The chenille stem will allow the ears to stand up, and can be bent to give the ears more shape.
Glue the off white fur middle ear pieces to the middle portion of the brown ear shape, and then glue the black fur center pieces inside the off white pieces. Once both ears are complete, attach the bow in the middle with hot glue. You could easily leave the bows off to create a version for boys.
Little guests will look paws-atively adorable wearing their DIY werewolf ear headbands during your Howl-O-Ween Bash! Not to mention, they'll howl with delight as they visit the Howl-O-Wween Trick or Treat Station, and nosh on yummy Werewolf Kibble.
