Make your Valentine decor shine with this DIY Wooden Painted Arrow Garland! This enchanting addition to your decor will perfectly pop against a wall or mantel. Dusted with eye-catching gold glitter, this garland is the perfect addition to any home's Valentine décor.
Using a flat bristled paintbrush and acrylic paint, paint the Wooden Arrows and Wood Hearts and then allow time for them to dry.
Create a fun painted polka dot pattern on the wood arrows and hearts by dipping the very tip of a pencil eraser into acrylic paint. Lightly tap the painted eraser onto the wooden heart or arrow. Continue dipping and painting polka dots onto the heart or arrow until it's full of pretty polka dots.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge® onto one wood heart with a Sponge Paint Brush. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, carefully apply gold glitter.
To create more patterns, adhere Black and White Washi Tape to a wooden heart or to the point of an arrow. Line up the pattern in the washi tape to create a fully patterned piece. Use scissors or a craft knife to cut off the excess washi tape.
Now it’s time to embellish! Doodle onto the wooden arrows using a Metallic Sharpie® Marker or glue Mini Heart Doilies to the back of the wooden hearts.
Cut a few strips of felt about .5” x 1.5”. Glue a length of Black and White Baker’s Twine to the back of the arrows and hearts with hot glue and a felt strip. Make sure to adhere the felt strip high on the wooden pieces. This will ensure that your garland hangs nice.
