Are you hosting a basketball party and looking for fun ways to serve themed desserts? Well, this Dunking Donut Holes Dessert Station is perfect! It's super easy to set up and is fun for the kids. You could always make all the chocolate covered donut holes yourself ahead of time and simply serve them as basketball desserts at your party, but this way your guests get involved and you've created a fun, interactive dessert station!

Project Time

Step
1

Start setting up the dessert station by placing glass, flat-bottomed round bowls upside down in the middle of a table. Place a basketball drink dispenser on top of the glass bowl. This will elevate the drink dispenser so you can easily dispense your drink into a cup under the spout. Fill the dispenser with milk or other juice right before your guests arrive. Place an orange traffic cone on either side of the dispenser and put a stack of cups down on to the tops. Now you've got your drinks all set up.

Next, place the donut holes on two basketball dinner plates and place plenty of gold plastic forks in two basketball cups. Fill three basketball snack cups with different colored candy melts. Place a stack of dessert plates in the middle so each guest will have a plate to put their dunked donut hole dessert.

Place a stack of purple dinner napkins and basketball beverage napkins on the table. The purple napkins provide a pop of color to match your party's colors. Feel free to change the color of the dinner napkin to the color that matches your team's colors.

Now your dessert station is all set up. When it's time to serve, place each of the basketball snack cups filled with candy melts in the microwave until the candy is fully melted. Be sure to reference the directions on the package for this. When all three are fully melted, return the snack bowls to the table.

Now it's time to have your guests dunk their donut holes! Have each guest place one donut hole on a gold fork.

Dunk the donut hole into the melted candy of your choice until it is fully covered. Pull it straight up out of the melted candy and hold it there for a minute to allow some of the excess to drip off of the donut hole and back into the snack bowl.

Hold your donut hole over a basketball dessert plate and shake sprinkles on it. Be sure to do this right away while the candy is still melted as the candy will begin to gradually firm up on the donut hole. You can color coordinate your candy melts and sprinkles to match your team's colors. Guests will have fun dunking their own donut holes and serving themselves milk from the basketball dispenser.
