DIY Easter Photo Booth

There are a million Easter crafts out there. However, many are centered around eggs. Egg crafts can be messy. Eggs crack. Dying them involves, well, dye. And the very thought of my preschooler’s play group doing any of those things makes me shutter in fear.

Instead of cursing the chicken and the egg (and the Easter Bunny) under my breath as I clean up an explosion of 4-year-old crafting, I decided to go a different route for our play group craft: an Easter Photo Booth the kids could not only help create, but could hang onto memories of it for years to come. This fun and simple Easter activity has all of those elements and it was a huge hit with the kids (and this busy mom of three!)

I started out by creating the backdrop. It came together pretty quickly and just by the nature of the project, allows for some human error which is always a good thing

taped up tablecloths I liked that there was a little bit of pooling at the bottom to give it the look of a real photo booth. Once the tablecloths were taped up, I started on one end and evenly spaced out the streamers, starting with the pink color and on with the other colors (white and blue). taped streamers Once the streamers were up, I taped the garland up, low enough so it would be in the photo background for the kids. taped streamers When the kids arrived, it was all about the crafts. First up: the Easter Bunny Mask Craft Kits. I've said it before and I'll say it again, these craft kits make entertaining children a cinch. They come with everything you need for the craft, all packaged together, and with a picture of the finished product so the kids can follow along on their own. The girls loved creating their own masks. kids making easter crafts Once they were finished, we paired the masks with these bunny nose with whiskers and the girls thought they were hilarious! girls laughing at masksgirl in bunny mask A photo shoot was so fun with these silly little friends! easter photo boothgirl wearing bunny noseeaster photo boothgirls in bunny maskslittle girl in bunny mask After we finished photos, they put together their own picture frames using the Easter Bunny Picture Frame Magnet Craft Kit. putting together easter frameputting together easter frame I printed the photos at Costco while the girls played and the finished products are so cute! And I love that they can hang them up for the season. easter frame This is such a fun Easter themed playdate without a huge mess. A big win for everyone!
