This DIY geometric table runner looks so elegant but is actually quite fast and easy to create with just a few basic supplies. Geometric patterns are very trendy for spring and summer, and of course, gold is a design staple for parties of all types. Grab your supplies and let's get crafty!
Lay out a length of white fadeless paper down the length of the table you plan to use it on. Double it over to ensure that the surface is completely opaque, as shown. You can also fold to any width to create a wider, or more narrow table runner, depending on your preference. Once you've decided, make nice, sharp creases in the paper to help it lay flat.
From one end of the runner, apply a length of gold glitter washi tape at an angle, as shown in the image. The angle is not important, just be sure to keep the line nice and straight.
Add more washi tape, in nice straight lines, coming off of the line you created. Trim the washi tape with scissors whenever two points meet.
Continue adding washi tape to create different shapes on the runner until you are satisfied with the look. You can create triangles, diamonds, trapezoids, squares and more just by placing the tape in different directions and using different lengths. This is just as much fun when you use different colors of washi tape, or a patterned set!
