When we think about Easter, there are a few key things that pop into our head – bunnies, eggs, and carrots. When coming up with some fun Easter dessert ideas, carrots planted into a garden dirt pudding cup sounded like the perfect idea. Of course we don’t mean actual carrots, actual dirt, or an actual garden. We changed up the classic worms in dirt and planted “carrots” into a garden pudding cup. I used Tootsie Rolls® for the carrots, but you can also use Jelly Beans to create a garden-like topping!
Place the chocolate sandwich cookies into a sandwich bag. Use a rolling pin, wooden spoon, or other hard kitchen tool and crush the cookies into a small dirt sized crumbs.
Open your pudding cups and top the pudding with a handful of cookie dirt.
Open a orange Tootsie Roll® and shape the roll into a carrot.
Use a butter knife to add some carrot indents into the candy carrot.
Open the green Tootsie Roll® and cut off a small bit and shape into a carrot top. Place the carrot top on top of your orange candy carrot. "Plant" your candy carrot into the garden pudding cup.
These little pudding cups not only make a great Easter picnic treat, but also would make an adorable place setting for an Easter garden party, or a fun school treat.
