With every St. Patrick’s Day, comes a perfect opportunity for crafting. I know she loves a good garland project (especially when she can decorate her workspace with it) so when I ran across these adorable clothespin leprechaun craft kit, the shamrock ornament craft kit and the bag of pom poms, I knew this would be the perfect project for us! Plus, this leprechaun kit comes with self-adhesive pieces. Less glue=less mess. An efficient morning project with time to spare. Win win!

Start by laying out the supplies from the leprechaun clothespin craft kit. When spending craft time with my kiddos I find it much easier to contain all the like items in little vessels or trays.

No St. Patrick’s Day craft is complete without rainbows, so we whipped out our supply of pom poms. We used bottle caps as a foundation to create simple pom pom rainbow rounds to add some color to our leprechaun craft garland. We used the concave side of the bottle cap and applied a bit of hot glue around the lip. We glued 5 rainbow hued pom poms around the edge.

We had some green and white baker’s twine left over from holiday wrapping, so we used it to string these little guys up. Simple little beads of hot glue attached the string to the back of the leprechaun’s heads.

My little mini likes to layer. Yep, she’s already in tune to the principles of successful decorating. So, when I ordered the leprechaun kit, she picked out the shamrock ornament kit as well. She can’t pass on anything with sparkles, so this was a must-have. Again, this kit has enough materials to create 12 shamrocks. With a little school glue, we layered these guys up in no time. If you don’t want to wait for them to dry, try using adhesive glue dots. No dry time necessary. We used the same technique for adhering the baker’s twine to the back of the shamrocks as we did before. A low-temp glue gun works great!

For a girl that LOVES color (and like a true designer odd numbers), Mini thought we should make a third simple pom pom rainbow garland. We simply took the larger pom poms from our collection, applied a wee bit of glue and tacked it to the string. Bonus, these poms will likely find a permanent home in her room following the holiday.

She was so excited to whip out the washi tape to hang our new little collection above her desk. A fun and simple project to decorate for St. Patrick’s Day!
