The end of the school year is always bittersweet. As much as I love summer, it's hard to say goodbye to my firsties. After 9 months together in our classroom, we are very attached to each other! The last few weeks are filled with loads of excitement and fun activities, but all of these "extras" can be tiring for teachers! I am trying to avoid exhaustion this year and make prepping sweet end of the year gifts a little earlier. These gifts are perfect for kiddos and for adults so it makes my life much easier!
My firsties this year love anything plush. When I saw these Plush Ice Cream Cones, I just knew they had to have them! Besides, nothing says summer more than a cool, colorful ice cream cone! For a simple end of the year celebration, have a little ice cream social. It's the perfect event to have outside! The kids think it's extra special to eat outside, and it keeps you from cleaning up any ice cream drips in your classroom. I love buying the little cups of ice cream and getting a few extra toppings they can pour on top. There's no scooping or messes required! After everyone enjoys a sweet treat, I plan on letting them pick a Plush Ice Cream Cone to keep!
I really plan to keep it simple this year. My goal is to not wrap anything. I made little printable gift tags for each cone. I designed them in lots of different colors so they have a unique look. Download each gift tag here! I attached the tags to each cone using a safety pin. A little ribbon bow finishes the look.
I realized the ice cream cones would also be perfect for adult gifts too! I always make gifts for fellow teachers and special volunteers, but I really wanted to make something that wouldn't require a lot of prep. For the grown-ups, I attached a larger tag that has a place for a gift card. Any gift card will work, but I wanted to pick a favorite ice cream shop to go with the theme. I used a few Mini Clear Glue Dots to attach the gift card to the tag so it can be easily removed. These would also be wonderful teacher appreciation gifts. I think kids will have so much fun passing these out to their favorite teachers!
I can't wait to treat all of my firsties and fellow teachers with this sweet end of the year gift! Of course, I plan on getting myself an extra large cone to celebrate summer too!
