If you're looking for a quick and easy project with great results, these fabric resist dyeing wall hangings are kind of perfect. Each one comes out colorful and unique and it's pretty much impossible to mess them up. Following along with this super simple tutorial.
Place your canvas wall hanging on a clean surface covered with paper or a table cloth. I recommend wearing an apron for this activity because fabric spray paint will stain your clothes.
Pick out different and interesting objects then place them all over your wall hanging to create a design. There is no wrong or right way to do this part. Just enjoy and take your time. We used feathers, cookie cutters and beads to add interest to our wall hangings.
Once you have all of your objects properly placed, you’re going to use the neon fabric spray paint to paint your wall hanging. Use different colors to cover the whole surface of your wall hanging.
After you’ve sprayed your whole wall hanging, carefully lift up all your objects and place them to the side. You will see a super cool pattern left behind by each object.
Just have fun with it and enjoy the process. If you wanted to take your fabric resist wall hanging to the next level, you could try going in with a Sharpie® marker after they’ve dried and draw designs on the negative space. You could also hang feathers and beads along the side as well.
