Add a pop of color to your home this fall with this easy-to-make colorful pine cone wreath. This festive wreath project would be fun for both adults and kids alike and you can be customized to fit your favorite fall color palette. Squirt a generous amount of acrylic paint onto a paper plate.
Roll the edges of a pine cone in the paint. You will need about 2 bags of pine cones to complete this project, or approximately 40-45 pine cones total.
Place the paint dipped pine cone on a clean paper plate. Working with one color of paint at a time, continue dipping the edges of the pine cones in the paint. Allow the pine cones to dry completely (at least a couple hours, overnight is best).
Plug in your glue gun and allow it to heat up and place the wire wreath on the table. Starting on one side of the inside ring of the wreath form, glue a dry, painted pine cone in place. Continue gluing the pine cones all along the wreath form until you no longer see the wire frame. It's easiest to arrange a few at a time on the wreath to determine the placement before gluing. Pro Tip! We recommend wrapping the wire frame wreath with burlap ribbon first and then hot glue the pine cones to the ribbon. This method will allow the pine cones to adhere better to the wreath.
