Fall is the perfect time for foraging around outdoors and finding little treasures - from colorful leaves, to pine cones, to acorns. This project is the perfect opportunity to bring nature indoors to create a beautiful fall display for your table or mantel. To create these DIY fall terarriums you can top a base of colorful sand art with a mix of fun craft items like these felt leaves along with finds from your own backyard.
Use different colors of sand to create a sand art base for the terrariums. I used the fall sand craft assortment, but rather than using the yellow that came with the set, I substituted this pretty gold glitter sand for a modern look.
Once you have filled each jar halfway with sand, decorate the tops with whatever materials you like. For this terrarium I used a fall leaf, a couple small velvet leaves, mini pine cones, and a feather.
I liked varying the combination of sand colors and fall items inside each terrarium to make them unique!
I created a fall vignette for our dining table by arranging the three glass terrariums on a woven tray, varying their height with a stack of books, and scattering a few of the leaves, pumpkins, and pine cones around the base of the terrarium. A simple way to make a beautiful centerpiece you can display all fall!
