Kids are crafters by nature, and productive ones at that! Enlist the little ones in your life (and their friends!) to craft their hearts out to make some fun and easy, festive fall decorations. These wreaths are all made with embroidery hoops and various fall-themed craft kits that include 12 to 24 mini-kits. These are great to make together at a fall backyard party or even in a classroom, and then you can easily assemble them into a wreath!
Open up about half of the craft kit packets in the Goofy Leaf Ornament Kit and organize all of the different facial features: eyes, mouths, noses, etc. Have the kids mix and match the features to create a gaggle of silly leaf faces. Use a hot-glue gun to attach the leaves to the embroidery hoop. Tie one of the pieces of twine from the kit to the screw of the embroidery hoop to hang.
For another, more minimal wreath design, have your kids make one of each of the designs included in the Fall Tissue Paper Ornament Craft Kit. While the glue is drying, paint your embroidery hoop with acrylic paint in a fall color. Once everything is dry, hot-glue the design around the embroidery hoop as desired. This will look especially nice hanging in the window so the light comes through tissue paper decoupage.
Break the mold of the traditional wreath and let the decorations hang inside the circle! Have your kids assemble five to seven of the craft kits from the Rhinestone Fall Leaf Craft Kit. Thread the string through the hole in the foam ornament and tie a small knot behind. While the glue is drying on the ornaments, paint the embroidery hoop in a complimentary fall color. Once the paint and glue are dry, separate the hoop pieces and lay the decorated leaves in the center, placed where you want them to ultimately hang. Cross the strings over the inner hoop. (You can glue them in place if you wish.) Remove the screw from the outer hoop and use an extra string to cinch the outer hoop together. Tie a knot and hang!
