Kids can make the prettiest spring butterflies using these boho floral paper plates. Just a few simple cuts with scissors transforms the paper plates into large butterflies. Add a rainbow craft stick body, chenille stem antennae, and decorate with pom-poms and jewels to make the butterflies extra colorful and unique! A group of these butterflies would look so pretty displayed on a classroom wall or window.
Cut two triangles out of the top and bottom of a floral paper plate. You can first fold the paper plate in half to create a center line if you want. Cut the triangles so that the peak of each triangle meets the center line of the paper plate. This creates the body of the butterfly.
Cut one inch slits around the edges of the paper plate and bend every other slit upward to create fringed wings.
Use a rainbow colored craft stick for the body of the butterfly. Add to the center of the paper plate with tacky glue.
Cut a chenille stem into fourths and create an antennae using two of the pieces. Glue to the back of the craft stick. Decorate your butterfly with sparkly pom-poms and flower jewels if you like!
