Turn small ceramic flower pots into whimsical wind chimes with this fun kids craft! Kids can use colorful puffy paint for a simple way to decorate the pots with pictures and designs. Then string the pots onto twine along with wood beads to help separate them. Keeping the pots slightly overlapped will allow them to jingle together in the breeze. Hang your new wind chimes outside to enjoy all summer!

For each wind chime, you'll want to decorate three of the DIY Ceramic Mini Flowerpots. They come in a pack of 12, so you'll have enough to make four wind chimes. We used the Tulip® Rainbow Puffy® Paint to decorate ours with fun designs. You can squeeze on the paint for a 3D effect, or smooth it onto the pot with a brush for a more traditional paint look. Let the paint dry for at least four hours before moving onto the next step.

Cut a three foot length of jute twine and run the twine through a DIY Unfinished Wood Cylinder Bead. Then run the twine through the top of the bead again and out the bottom to hold the bead in place. Tie the end of the twine in a knot to secure it.

Thread one of the pots through the twine until it meets the bead. This will be the bottom pot on your wind chime.

Run the twine through another bead, stopping about two inches above the first bead. Run the end of the twine through the bottom of the bead and up through the top of the bead to secure the bead in place.

Run the twine through the second pot until the pot is stopped by the second bead. You want the pots to slightly overlap so that they jingle in the wind. Adjust the height of the second bead as needed so that they overlap. Repeat steps four and five with a third bead and pot.

Finish your wind chimes by adding some additional beads at the top and then knotting the top of the twine to create a loop to hang the wind chime.
