While the cold weather continues outside it's nice to keep things simple and find art projects for kids to do indoors. These framed art hearts are a great craft for kids of all ages with a little help from an adult and also make great gifts.
An older child or an adult can cut out hearts on one piece of paper. Fold a seam anywhere on the paper and cut half a heart along the seem and open to create one perfect heart stencil. I cut out a few in different sizes.
Paint another piece of paper with watercolors and then use the heart stencil to spray over with the spray paints. There is no wrong or right way to do this part. Just have fun experimenting and spraying. You can add tape to either hold the heart stencil in place or add to your design.
On the wood frame add words that are important to you and your family. Depending on how old your child is, you can ask them to write the words with a sharpie or dictate the words to you.
Pick out a favorite part of your child’s artwork then cut it down to fit in the wood frame.
These Framed Art Hearts make a great Valentine’s gift for grandma, grandpa, or anyone you love. Enjoy and Happy Valentine’s Day!
