I always want to give a pretty wrapped gift, it makes even the smallest treat more special when it's wrapped with love. There is always an occasion to give a gift! Having all of your supplies in one place makes it so much more fun, and never a chore! Save time and money by knowing what you already have by keeping everything you could possibly need to wrap a gift in your own DIY Gift Wrapping Station!
Put together the Anchor Chart Storage Rack. This is actually for school teachers to use to hang their large posters on, it lends itself perfectly to creating a DIY gift wrap station! The instructions are fairly straightforward to follow.
You can get these storage crates at all craft stores for about $10. You could also use a heavy weigh basket as well. I like the crate because it's heavy enough that it won't wobble, and it distributes its weight nicely across the bars. Set the crate on the storage rack to one side.
These Clear Storage Bins with Lids are perfect for your most used items like tape and scissors...and of course some of the fun stuff too! Bakers twine comes in lots of colors and is perfect for wrapping your packages and hanging gift tags. I love using washi tape to give gifts a little fun touch, and of course curling ribbon is a classic that just won't quit! I used three of these storage bins for this gift wrapping station, but you could use more if needed.
Next, gather your gift wrapping supplies from all of your drawers, closets and anywhere else they are hiding. Organize them into gift tags, ribbons, tissue paper etc...
Put the smaller items in the large craft bags and hang the larger items on the hangers. Hang the bags sideways so that you can easily fit them on the hanger and also get into the items without pulling the hanger off! For your gift bags, hang them on the hanger by their handles, just be sure to balance them out. The bags hanging on the ends, tuck the handle under the clip on the hanger so that they don't slide off.
Fill your crate with your rolls of wrapping paper, and put a couple of the plastic storage bins on one side.
The plastic bins fit perfectly on the bars at the bottom of the rack, and since they are stackable, you can stack them as high as you would like! Make it even more organized and add some fun labels to your bins!
Your DIY gift wrapping station is totally portable and can easily tuck into a closet out of sight, or in the corner of your craft room or office. Everything will be ready, and at your fingertips next time you need to wrap a gift!
