Remove the string hanger and paint the entire front of the DIY Unfinished Wood Cross with Heart Ornaments with tempera paint. We used red, magenta, turquoise and purple paint. Let dry.
Use white tempera paint to paint the heart white. Let dry.
Dip the child's finger in red paint and dab off the excess. Press the finger into the center of the heart at a diagonal and then press again in the opposite direction to create a heart.
Decorate the cross with Heart-Shaped Jewels, Self-Adhesive Pearl Hearts, and Self-Adhesive Glitter Heart Stickers.
Write "God is Love" with a red Sharpie marker around the edge of the heart.
