Centerpieces make your tablescape don't you agree? I love the idea of something fun and unusual down the center to really set the vibe for your table, but it should also be simple and low so that conversation can easily flow across the table. It was the perfect DIY project and has the modern jungle vibe that I was aiming for.
Gather together as many palm leaves in different sizes that you will want for your centerpiece. I wanted a heavy layer, so I used 20 leaves total; 10 medium and 10 large. For this centerpiece I used three colors of paint for about 15 of the leaves, and left the other 5 in their natural state. Spray paint the underside on a few of the leaves so they can be laid upside down to create dimension.
Once your palm leaves are dry, add Mod Podge to the places where you would like the gold leafing to stick. I chose to add it just to the ends of about a third of my leaves, however, you can do all or as many as you would like!
Begin at each end and layer your leaves down the center of your table, alternating large with medium. When the leaves meet in the center, place leaves multiple directions to create a smooth transition.
Tuck candlesticks between the leaves all the way down the table. This would look really pretty with vases tucked in as well.
