Make these adorable Halloween Swirl Cupcakes with my easy steps. This recipe is perfect for your Halloween parties for school or really anywhere. I absolutely love the cat lollipops that I added. Your kids will go nuts for them.
- Vanilla Cake Mix Box
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 3 Eggs
- Black food coloring gel
- Orange food coloring gel
- 6 c. powdered sugar
- 2/3 c. butter, softened
- 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2-3 Tbs. milk
Mix your cake mix as per directions and divide your cake batter into two bowls. Mix 10-20 drops of black food coloring into one bowl of batter. Mix 8-10 drops of orange food coloring into the other bowl. Add more drops to get desired color.
Add each color of cake mix into a large ziplock bag. Trim the ends and add Halloween cupcake liners to a muffin baking pan.
Pipe orange cake mix into the bottom of the liners. Pipe black batter into the middle of the orange cake batter and repeat until cups are a little over half full.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-17 minutes. Once done, let cool.
Make orange frosting by mixing powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and milk into bowl. Mix until smooth and fluffy. Add 2-3 drops of orange food coloring and mix. Add extra milk to get desired thickness. Frost the cupcakes.
Top with black cat lollipops or other Halloween cupcake picks of your choice. Serve with cute Halloween dessert plates and napkins.
