Kids love having a snack in Sunday School or VBS, so why not tie in a whale craft with the snack! This Jonah and the Whale craft is a fun addition to a Bible lesson on Jonah! I'd recommend making the craft at the beginning of the lesson as a hook activity. Then, fill it with the Goldfish crackers and eat the snack at the end of the lesson. Before doing the craft with your kids, you will want to print off the Jonah and the Whale Craft Tracersonto white cardstock and then cut out the tracers. Download the Free Jonah and the Whale Tracers Printable here!

Each student will need a half sheet of blue paper. I used light blue cardstock, but you could also use construction paper. Students will use the tracers to trace the face, tail, and two fins onto the blue paper.

Once they have cut out their pieces, students will need to fold the two fins at the base of the fin. They will also glue on two Giant Black Googly Eyes to the circle head and use a black marker to draw on the smile.

Students will glue the head onto the front of a Light Blue Paper Cup. Then, they will glue each fin to the sides of the cup. A trick I use with my students is to have them count backwards from 10 while they hold their piece down to let the glue begin to dry. This really helps! The tail will need to be attached to the back of the cup with a piece of tape. The cups will need time to dry before they can be filled with snack. This is a great time to do your lesson!

After the glue is dry, fill each of the cups with Goldfish crackers and let the kids enjoy their snack! They can take the whale cup home as a reminder of their lesson.
