Turn your Christmas tree into a retro Christmas wonderland with delightful DIY Christmas ornaments! Remove the metal ornament hook from the top of a Small DIY Terrarium Ornament. Squeeze about a quarter sized dollop of colored Acrylic Paint into the ornament. Swirl the paint around the inside of the ornament until it is entirely covered. If you find it difficult to cover all of the areas, use a Paintbrush or Sponge Paintbrush to help move the paint around.
To allow the excess paint to drain, place the ornaments open side down into a paper cup and allow to dry overnight. To add the second layer of paint, squeeze about a quarter sized dollop of colored Acrylic Paint into the ornament. Swirl the paint around the inside of the ornament until it is entirely covered. Repeat step 2 to allow the paint to dry overnight.
Use a White Paint Marker to draw 'icicles' around the outside opening of the ornaments. If you want to get extra fancy, use a paintbrush to add a layer of Mod Podge® Gloss Sealer. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, shake on some Iridescent Glitter and allow to dry.
Use hot glue to carefully adhere a metallic chenille stem around the outside edge of the ornament opening.
Embellish the inside of the ornament with White Yarn Pom Poms, Craft Snow, Sisal Trees, Mini Ornaments or mini animal figures. You can even twist red and white chenille stems together to form mini candy canes. Use hot glue to keep all your fun embellishments in place.
