I love cute, thoughtful and practical favors and these lavender sugar scrubs certainly fit the bill. These lavender sugar scrub favors are made with a combination of coconut oil, sugar and lavender essential oil. Making sugar scrubs takes no time at all and cost very little. You might already have the ingredients in your pantry! I chose coconut oil for my base because it is extremely moisturizing and healing. Sugar acts as the exfoliant and it’s cheap, sweet and safe enough to eat. What could be better?! Lavender adds the perfect scent to the sugar scrubs. With its soothing and calming properties, it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Mix together 1 cup coconut oil with 2 cups granulated sugar. Stir the mixture until it has a light and creamy consistency.
Add 10-15 drops of lavender essential oil. Lavender can be a powerful scent so if you don’t want a strong aroma, add about half of the drops. The mix of lavender and coconut together is such an amazing combination, it’s one of my all time favorite scents.
Add about a 1/4 teaspoon of dried lavender buds to the sugar mixture and stir in the buds until they are fully incorporated into the mixture.
Wash and dry the jars completely. Spoon the sugar scrub inside the bottle and pack tightly. I made my own sugar scrub labels using Canva and printed them out on white cardstock. Cut the labels out and punch a hole in the top of the cardstock.
Next, thread a strand of yellow bakers twine through the hole of the label and tie around the top of the bottle. Tuck a small spoon and a lavender sprig into the knot of the bakers twine.
Here a few things you can do with sugar scrub.
- On your face – Use at the sink or in the shower. Massage in circular motions for 30 seconds avoiding hairline so it doesn’t get greasy. Avoid the eye area completely. This skin is delicate and should not be exfoliated with a scrub. Rinse and pat dry. The oil will absorb immediately.
- On your hands – Massage into your hands and fingernails for 30 seconds. Rinse and pat dry.
- On your legs and feet – Massage into your legs and feet while in the bath or sitting on the side of the bathtub. Rinse and pat dry.
