Creating and learning go so well together at home. Stamps, washable paint, and colorful washi tape make for hours of fun. Let kids craft their own learning charts! Kid’s will have fun with stamps & paint! The washable paint is so vibrant. Such fun colors. And of course I love that it is washable! We love the “knobs” on the letter stamps. This allows little hands to easily hold the stamp while crafting.
To make letter charts, start by using white cardstock. We created a fun polka-dot border at the top and bottom with washi tape. Add washable paint to a paper plate. Let your little one stamp one letter on the sheet. We used both upper case and lower case letters in one color of paint. Have the kids keep the letter stamping in between the two tape borders.
Using a Sharpie® Fine Point Marker, write words above and below the washi tape border that start with the letter on the chart. It’s fun to let the kids choose the words.
Display the letter charts on the wall. It is fun to add a new chart each week, as your child is learning the letters. Another great idea is to bind the letter charts in a book after all the letter charts have been created. This makes for a fun ABC book while learning letters and their sounds.
To make a number line, begin by attaching a few pieces of white or colored cardstock together to create a long poster. About 6″ x 20″. Add washable paint to a paper plate. Beginning with zero or one, let kids create a number line with the number stamps.
Using a Sharpie® Fine Point Marker, add dots just below the stamped number. For one, add one dot, for two, add two dots, etc.
Kids can count objects using the number line, or practice addition and subtraction. Cereal is a great food for this activity.
Display the number line in a visible spot while learning numbers and counting at home.
