Read Across America week is a very exciting time in the classroom. Students are eager to learn all about one of their favorite authors, Dr. Seuss. It is a great time to create a very cute & simple DIY craft to help brighten up the classroom after a long winter!
While you wait for the flower pot to dry, create truffula trees! I created two different versions. To create the first version, use gluedots, pom-poms, and blackstripedpaperstraws. Attach the glue dots to the pom-poms and hold it onto the straw. It’s that simple! No other glue is needed.
To create the second version of truffula trees, do the same steps but use Dr. Seusspencils instead!
Now they are ready to be displayed around the classroom. Students could make this DIY flower pot in a group, also! This might help save on space around your room. I hope this post has inspired you to get crafty and creative to celebrate Read Across America Week.
