Finding farmhouse decor to fit your home's decor can be a scary prospect at Halloween. This fun "Lurk, Laugh, Loathe" Halloween sign is a play on those popular wood signs bearing quaint words and phrases, so frequently found in farmhouse decorating. This humorous Halloween sign is fast and easy to make, and will fit right into your rustic, farmhouse or neutral decorating scheme this Halloween!
Cover a scrap piece of cardboard with wood shiplap paper to create a smooth sign front.
Using a vinyl cutting machine, like the Cricut Joy, use black permanent vinyl to cut letters for your sign. The font used for this project is called "Monster Mush", and the letters were sized to four inches tall.
Using a bit of washi tape from your craft stash, place straight guide lines on the front of the sign to align your letters easily. Apply your letters by hand, or you can use transfer tape if you prefer. Remove the washi tape when you've completed application of all the vinyl letters.
Apply some moss to the top corner of your sign, and adhere with hot glue.
Add a pumpkin monster hand, (sourced from this creepy animated Jack O Lantern), and use hot glue to apply the hand to the sign securely. Allow to dry.
Repeat on the oppposite side of the sign. To both of the hands, add a length of black satin ribbon, fashioned into a bow, for an especially haunting farmhouse touch.
Add a spider or two from a bag of Spider Explosion spiders. Add a few more. And perhaps, a few more. Add the whole pack. After all, it's Halloween!
Add a satin bow using hot glue. It's sturdy enough to hold this sign, as it's so lightweight! Your finished farmhouse Halloween sign is ready to hang.
