If there is one thing that will never go out of style for weddings it’s photo booths. They are the perfect addition to wedding receptions as they give guests another activity aside from dancing and the photos are great party favors. Rather than hiring a company save on your wedding budget by creating this DIY tissue paper backdrop. You can easily pop this backdrop up in a corner of your wedding reception, provide some Polaroids and you have an instant photo booth! Read on below to learn how to make this easy backdrop for yourself!
First you will need to create the shape of your backdrop. Tape four large pieces of foam board together and use a pencil to draw a large heart. Then using scissors or a box cutter carefully cut out your shape. Reinforce the back side of your backdrop with more tape to secure.
Next fold your tissue paper in half and use scissors to cut the paper into strips. To create the desired “fringe” you only want to cut up to an inch before the fold line. Leaving this inch is important so that your fringed paper stays together as one piece.
Once you have cut enough paper to cover your backdrop it is time to start gluing. Starting with the bottom of your backdrop glue the top inch of your tissue paper down. Make sure to only glue the top of your paper and avoid gluing the fringe. Place the next piece of fringed paper so that it overlaps half of the first. Work your way up the face of your backdrop until it is completely covered.
Once your backdrop is completely covered in tissue paper use scissors to trim the edges.
Now your backdrop is finished and you can hang and enjoy at your wedding!
