I love to do my own DIY games for kids and Tic tac toe is such a simple classic. Your child can whip this up in no time and can play with over and over again. You only need a few supplies too. Prepare your tic tac toe game board. I used a recycled piece of cardboard and quickly spray painted it. You can use tempera paint or just leave it plain. Add washi tape to create the game board in any color you like.
Design your wood chips for the x’s and o’s. We used both paint markers and wood markers. It was fun to try different combinations of the two. I liked paint with the wood markers first and then use the paint markers on top after they dried. Some of the other kids liked combinations of the two in all different styles. Make 5 x’s and 5 o’s to play Tic tac toe. The first one to get three x’s or three o’s in a row wins.
