I love plants and think they are a wonderful source of enjoyment and numerous health benefits for both indoors and outdoors. I was thrilled to use the Full Color Spectrum Paper Pack for November’s Supply of the Month challenge as I knew immediately I wanted to create 3-D Paper Cacti and Grasses. Plus, whether you are a gardening expert or a repeated black thumb, these are plants you can keep around year round! Be sure to download the Free Cactus Craft Printable here!
Download the Free Cactus Craft Printable here! Cut out the plant template shape you are going to use.
Next trace the shape onto two sheets of green paper and following your lines, cut them out.
Once you have exact replicas of your cacti shape, place one sheet on top of the other and fold both of them in half.
Next, take one sheet of paper and then fold it in the opposite direction. This basically is creating a “mirror fold” to create your 3-D plant.
Apply glue to the 3-D section of your cacti or grass and allow to dry.
Once your plant shape is dry, use a contrasting acrylic paint color to add plant details with a paint brush.
I then crumbled a large piece of aluminum foil and placed it in the bottom of my Medium sized flowerpot so as to not waste the decorative rocks.
I then filled the top portion of the flowerpot with either white or pink stone gravel or sand and gently placed the paper cacti or grass inside.
