We absolutely loved creating this mummy Halloween puppet. The craft paper bags are a bit larger and more durable than a paper lunch sack; they make the perfect puppets! You can easily transform the mummy puppet into a ghost by not using the strips of felt. Simply cut the felt to fit the bottom portion of the bag. Step
1

The paper bags were a bit long so I trimmed off about 1 ½-2″ from the bottom.

Step
2

Cut a white rectangle 9 ½ x 7″ for the body using the white construction paper. Then cut another white rectangle 6 ¾ x 4 ½” for the face from the construction paper.

Step
3

Using a glue stick, glue both the body and the face of the mummy on. Make sure the front of your bag is the part with the opening flap for the puppet mouth.

Step
4

Cut 1-1 ½” strips of white felt for the mummy’s wrap. I fit 6 strips 1-1 ½ x 7″ on one bag. Hot glue the white felt strips over the white body construction paper in a criss-cross pattern making sure they overlap.

Step
5

Cut out the ghost eyes from the template and trace onto black construction paper. Cut out and glue onto the mummy’s face. Hot glue the googly eyes onto the black construction paper. Download the Free Mummy Template Printable here!

Note: You can also glue a white rectangle on the inside of the flap for the mouth, about 6 ¾ x 2 ¼ “.
