It may be a tradition to leave cookies for Santa, but when you are busy writing your letters to him this year you'll want to munch on this tasty North Pole Snack Mix. This classic snack mix is given a frosty makeover wtih all kinds of delicious goodies you would find at the North Pole like reindeer noses, snowballs, and elf kisses and Santa hats.
- 9 c. Rice Chex™ Cereal
- 1 c. Melted Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 c. Peanut Butter
- 1 t. Vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
- 1 c. Caramel Bugles™
- 1 c. Red Chocolate Melting Wafers
- 1/2 c. Mini Chocolate Chips
- 1 c. Red and Green M&M's™
- 1 c. Mini Marshmallows
- White Nonpareils Sprinkles
- 1/4 c. Butter or Margarine
In a 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave melted chocolate, peanut butter and butter uncovered on high for 30 seconds. Stir then microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
Add powdered sugar to snack mix. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool.
In a small microwavable bowl melt the red melting chocolate on high for 30 seconds, stir. Melt 30 seconds at a time until smooth. Dip the caramel Bugles™ in the melted chocolate and coat completely. Dip the bottom in the white nonpareils sprinkles and top with a white mini marshmallow to create Santa's hat.
Add mini pretzels, mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, red and green M&M's™ and Santa hats to the mix. Gently stir to combine ingredients.
