Hot apple cider is the quintessential beverage for autumn. The scent of cinnamon, cloves and apples wafting through the air while the cider is simmering is just about the best scent in the world. Why not kick it up a notch and add a bit of ginger and orange to the classic apple cider. Your guests will love sipping on this delicious autumn drink and you'll love how quick and easy it is to make.
- 4 c. Apple Cider
- 1/2 Orange Sliced
- 8 Whole Cloves
- 2" Peeled Fresh Ginger Cut Into Slices
- 4" Cinnamon Stick Broken Into Pieces
Measure 4 cups of your favorite brand of apple cider. I love cider that's cloudy and tastes rich and sweet. Add the cider to a medium saucepan on low heat.
Break apart the cinnamon stick and add them to the simmering cider. Add the cloves to the saucepan as well.
Slice half of an orange and add it to the saucepan, orange peels and all.
Simmer on low for 18-20 minutes to give all the flavors a chance to combine.
After the cider has finished simmering, strain and serve.
