Add a pop of color to your party table with painted stemware and cutlery. You can use the real thing, or try the technique on plastic tableware. Either way, the look is modern, elegant and very fun! One bonus of using our recommended removable spray paint is that when the party’s over, you can remove it and have a blank canvas for the next time!
Using painter’s tape, wrap the cutlery well; to cover all portions that will come in contact with food or consumption of food.
Wrap the wine glasses in painter’s tape as well, using the tape to create a pattern such as a point, as shown, or stripes, or even plaid; it’s okay to experiment and get creative, since the paint we used for this project is removable, there are no mistakes that can’t be easily corrected.
Wear a mask to protect yourself from breathing fumes, and work in a well ventilated area. Cover your work surface and surrounding areas well, or work outside. Use Rustoleum Flexi Dip to spray the uncovered surface of the wine glasses and the cutlery thoroughly. Allow the coating to dry for about a minute, then apply a second coat. Check for any spots that you can still see through and if needed, apply a third coat. Allow to dry for an hour. Carefully remove the painter’s tape to reveal your beautiful design!
These designer-inspired wine glasses and cutlery are beautiful and functional. One really incredible aspect of the removable spray paint from Rustoleum is that it is dishwasher safe! If you’d prefer to remove the paint; however, it peels off easily, and completely.
