Everyone is always asking me how to create backdrops for dessert tables. Here is an incredibly easy and affordable DIY Party Backdrop using paper plates … YES I said paper plates! I used these fabulous French Bull plates for a Modern Adult Cocktail Party.  It only takes minutes to finish and will add a nice decorative element to your party.

Pick out which paper plates you will use in your party backdrop. Lay out a few different configurations on your floor to figure out what looks best. Add the glue dots or masking tape to the back of your plates. I only used one glue dot per plate. On either a wall or a large foam board start to adhering your plates. I did not use a ruler or level. Simply eyeball it. Start with your bottom row first then do one side row. You can easily align the plates from there.

If you are using a foam board, you will need to attach the foam board to the wall or rest it on the table and against the wall at a slight angle.
