This Paper Plate Tomb Craft is a great way to teach children about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Building the tomb and then adding stickers to represent that Jesus has been resurrected is a fun way to celebrate this Easter season. With all the hype around Easter gifts and the Easter bunny, it’s easy to forget about the real meaning of Easter. I think teaching our children that Jesus died and was resurrected is one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday. In order to do this, I’ve come up with several different ideas that can help. This Paper Plate Tomb Craft is a great hands-on way for kids to learn.
Cut one of the white paper plates in half with scissors.
Using the scissors, cut and opening for the tomb on one of the two plate pieces.
I wanted the back of my tomb to be dark. Since the plates had a coating on their face-up surface, I found that this black Painters Paint Marker worked well. You could color the entire inside if your child wanted to add stickers of Jesus inside the tomb to their plate.
Once the paint has dried, staple the plate together to form a pocket.
Using the “He Lives” Sticker Scenes, let the children decorate the rest of the tomb with the resurrection scene. They will have fun adding the animals and angel to the tomb to create their own perfect Paper Plate Tomb.
