A navy and marsala wedding with pops of coral is the perfect occasion for creating a pressed flower under glass. These placecards, with ribbon ties in stunning navy satin ribbon, hold a carefully scripted guest's name on a background of navy floral pattern, and are brimming with elegance. Navy blue paired with red roses and handmade wedding placecards are a classic signature wedding element.
Remove the glass from the wooden frames and set aside. Using acrylic paint in a pale peach or blush shade, and a wide paint brush, paint the exterior surface of the frame until you have the shade and coverage that you like. If you like a little sparkle like we do, try adding a coat or two of Glitterific paint in gold.
Press rose petals or even faux red rose petals between the glass and a bit of ivory cardstock.
Replace the back of the frame, and trim a length of navy blue single faced satin ribbon to about twelve inches long with fabric scissors or other sharp scissors.
Tie the ribbon around the back of the frame, then add a navy floral placecard (we trimmed it in half and added a hole with a paper punch). Tie in a loose knot. For the names, we found a white fine point paint marker was the perfect tool for scripting our guest's names.
