Fall is here, and that means pumpkin spice season has begun! We have to admit, we're huge fans of this yummy fall flavor and love incorporating it into a variety of seasonal snacks. So it was a no-brainer to whip up some pumpkin spice popcorn for our recent It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown outdoor movie party, and it was the perfect addition to our DIY Popcorn Bar. The mix of pumpkin spice, brown sugar and butter is almost too good to be true – and it takes just minutes to make! Grab your pumpkin spice and let's get poppin'!
- 2 Bags Natural Microwave Popcorn
- 5 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Maple Extract
- 1 tsp Pumpkin Spice
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- Salt to Taste
- 1 Tbsp Water
Begin by microwaving both bags of popcorn. Heat each bag individually to ensure all the popcorn kernels pop.
In a medium saucepan, heat the butter, brown sugar, maple extract, pumpkin pie spice, water and salt over medium heat until the brown sugar has dissolved and all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Pour the delicious pumpkin, maple and butter mixture over the popped popcorn and toss until the popcorn is coated.
Transfer the popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Heat in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. Make sure to stir the popcorn mixture a few times within this time frame.
Remove from the oven and continue stirring every so often as the popcorn cools. Once completely cool, fill up the Mini Kraft Cardboard Popcorn Boxes with your yummy Pumpkin Spice Popcorn! We decorated ours with some pieces from the adorable Peanuts Halloween 3D Scene Craft Set. Our guests couldn't get enough and we can't wait to make it all fall long!
