We whipped up this classic birthday sweet with a unique twist to celebrate at our recent My Little Pony Birthday Party! Brightly colored My Little Pony party supplies inspired this cheerful recipe, but you can easily swap out the candy colors and cupcake topper to suit nearly any theme! So get ready to get baking and start snacking!

- Cake Frosting
- Sparkling Lavender Chocolate Candy
- Sparkling Bright Pink Chocolate Candy
- Sparkling Powder Blue Chocolate Candy
- Large Shimmer Bright Pink Gumballs
- Rainbow sprinkles
Start creating this colorful cupcake by baking up your favorite store bought cake mix. Instead of following the box directions, make your cake extra decadent by adding an additional egg. You will also want to add a splash of vanilla and to replace any oil with butter and any water with milk. Bake until a fork comes out clean.
Now that you've baked up your enhanced cake mix, use a sharp knife to cut the center for your cupcake and place it to the side for later.
In a bowl, mix up Sparkling Powder Blue Chocolate Candy, Sparkling Bright Pink Chocolate Candy, and Sparkling Lavender Chocolate Candy. Once mixed, add a scoop of the candies into the center of the cupcakes.
Replace the top of the cupcake that you removed previously, securing the candy surprise in the center of the cupcake.
Add a heaping dollop of vanilla frosting to the top of the cupcake with a piping bag, a knife or even a makeshift Ziploc bag with a corner trimmed off. Then, add a dusting of your favorite sprinkles to the top of the cupcakes for a colorful addition.
For a dose of extra cuteness, add a Large Shimmer Bright Pink Gumball to the top of the cupcakes.
Create your own custom My Little Pony cupcake toppers by adhering a trimmed Mint Striped Paper Straws to the back of a My Little Pony themed confetti found in the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Centerpiece Set. A simple dot of hot glue should hold this in place. Then add the toppers to the cupcakes!
