Are you looking for a cute centerpiece idea for a baby shower? Well, today I'm going to show you how to create this Raindrop Umbrella centerpiece which I featured in my latest "Let It Rain" Baby Shower. It's so easy and the final result is FABULOUS!
Create one 3″ raindrop paper cutout to use as your master stencil. Using the stencil, trace with a pencil, 4 raindrops on 6 pieces of scrapbook paper and cut them out. When you’re done, you should have 24 total raindrops. Separate them into 6 sets of 4 raindrops.
Cut four 30″ strands of the clear cording and lay flat. Using one of each of the 6 different raindrops, tape each raindrop in alternating patterns to the clear cording about 1″ apart from each other. Repeat on the other 3 strands so you have 4 total strands with 6 raindrops each.
Open the umbrella and place inside your vase so it stands up on its own. Tie the top end of the cording to the end of one of the umbrella spokes. Trim off any excess cording. Continue to tie the other 3 strands on every other umbrella spoke. When done, take umbrella out of the vase and sit to the side.
Fill the vase with blue glass gems about a quarter of the way full and place the umbrella back into the vase pushing the handle down into the gems so it holds it upright.
Display your centerpiece on your baby shower table. This Raindrop Umbrella could be used in many ways. How cute would it be displayed on a candy table or hung from the ceiling as shower decorations.
