- 7 oz Salted Popcorn (I used two packs of microwavable popcorn)
- 1 (12-oz) Bag White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips
- 2 (2-oz) Bottles Red Hot Candies
- Red Sugar Sprinkles (optional but cute!)
Pour the popcorn into a large, clean paper bag (like a brown paper grocery bag) and set aside. If you don't have a large paper bag, you can put the popcorn in a large bowl, but a bag makes the job very easy.
Pour the red hot candies into the bowl of a food processor fitted with the regular blade. Process the candies until they are finely ground.
Pour the candy melts or white chocolate into a medium, heatproof bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat until the candy is melted and completely smooth.
Add the crushed red hots to the melted candy and stir to combine.
Pour the candy mixture over the popcorn in the bag, close the bag up, and shake it vigorously to evenly distribute the candy coating on the popcorn. Spread the candy-coated popcorn on a parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the popcorn with red sugar sprinkles if desired. Allow the candy-coated popcorn to set up.
Print out the popcorn gift tags, and when the popcorn is no longer sticky, package it up and give it to friends and family!
