Cut your rosette paper into strips using a paper cutter or scissors. To make each rosette you will need two strips. Your strip should be half the size of your overall rosette. For example, if you want 3" rosette then you would cut your strips 1.5" thick. I used 8.5" x 11" scrapbook paper, cutting on the short side. You can easily cut 12" x 12" paper down to this size. Your strip size should be 1.5" x 8.5." Our Beware banner has 6 letters, thus you will need to cut 12 strips of paper to form your 6 rosettes.

Using a scoring board, score your paper in 1/4" intervals. This will help you to make the accordion folds more easily. If you don't have a paper scorer, don't worry you can just do this step by hand. If you lay two strips side by side, you can quickly score them and this will make creating your rosettes easier. Remember, you will need 2 strips per rosette to form a circle.

Using a circle punch, punch circles to place in the center of your rosette to hold them together. My rosettes are 3" wide, and I punched 1.5" circles. Be creative and use different color or pattern of paper for the centers of your rosettes. You can also use a scallop punch or a similar to a circle shape. Punch 2 circles per rosette. I was going with a farmhouse vibe, so I just went with a tone on tone look and used the exact same paper. You can also make your center circle larger, but since I wanted mine to "blend in" I didn't make a very large center circle. Just make sure it's large enough to hold your rosette together.

Using the Surebonder® Low Temperature Mini Glue Gun, hot glue two of your paper strips together to form one really long strip. You should have one end that folds up and one that goes down that you can easily match up. Simply place a small amount of hot glue on each end to form a circle. If your ends don't line up, simply cut off one accordion fold on the end of your paper strips until they match up. I cut the small little strips that weren't a full 1/4" in length and then mine lined up perfectly!

To create the rosette shape, apply a good amount of pressure to the outside of your circle forcing it to fold into the center. While holding it down, apply a generous amount of hot glue. Have your center circle handy because you will want to immediately place this in the center of your rosette to keep it in place. You can place a "weight" like a glass in the center until the glue dries. Once the glue is dry, you can flip it over and stabilize it by applying another circle in the center. It's not necessary, but this is the method I prefer. You can also now use either side in your banner since both sides of your rosette are finished looking.

You can fit 4 of these banners on a 12" x 12" piece of scrapbook paper. Make sure you cut out enough banners for all of your letters. In this case, we cut out 6 banners.

Using the We R Memory Keepers-Mini Alphabet Punch Board, create your desired letters. We made B-E-W-A-R-E. There is a manual with instructions provided with your punch board. Cut small pieces of paper measuring 2.5" x 1.5" in size. Once you have your pieces of paper cut, follow the instructions on what punches and cuts each letter needs. There is an error in the book for the letter "W." You need to cut a 2.5" x 2.5" square for it to be correct. On the back of the booklet, it shows you an alternative letter shape. I thought it looked a little more "spooky" so I went one step further and added the little cut details. Customize these letters however you'd like by adding glitter, coloring or even using different colored paper.

Now it's time to add your letter to your rosette. I just used a foam dot to make them look a bit more elevated and not so flat on my rosette. You can use hot glue, glue dots, or your favorite form of adhesive. Simply glue each letter on their own rosette.

It's time to place your rosettes on the center of the banner cutouts. I just used hot glue to secure these into place. There's nothing special here. Add some hot glue to the center of your rosette and stick it into place. Repeat this process with all of your rosettes and banner shapes.

Using the We R Memory Keepers-Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch & Eyelet Setter, adjust the measurement guide to the desired depth to keep your punches consistent. I used the smaller 1/8" hole to place two holes, one on each side of the banner. Once you have your holes, insert an eyelet and adjust the cube settings if needed. Next, squeeze firmly with the tool to secure your eyelet in place. If you don't have a We R Memory Keepers-Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch & Eyelet Setter you can easily just use a hole punch to punch a hole in each corner of your banner shape.

Paint two of the DIY Unfinished Wooden Bat Shapes in your choice of color. We painted ours black using a foam brush from the Plaid Paintbrush Super Value Pack brush set. You could even add glitter, washi tape, googly eyes etc. to embellish your bat shapes.
