Begin creating the rubber ducky garland by cutting one of the rubber ducks from one of the Rubber Ducky Paper Dessert Plates to use as a template.

Trace the rubber duck template onto pink, yellow, blue, green and purple felt. Our garland had seven ducks, so we chose to repeat the yellow and purple ones twice. You'll need to cut two shapes for each duck on the garland. Once you have the ducks traced, cut the duck's bill and trace it onto orange felt.

Lay the bottom piece of each of the ducks on your work surface, spaced about 2" - 3" apart. Use hot glue to adhere grey baker's twine to the top of each duck's head. Next, lay the second duck piece on top of the bottom piece and run a bead of hot glue along the edges to secure them together. Be sure to leave an opening at the bottom to add the cotton batting.

Use the flat end of a bamboo skewer to gently push cotton batting into each of the ducks. Once they have been filled, hot glue each of the openings closed.

Next, hot glue the duck bills and a black mini pom pom eye onto each of the ducks.

Now, add a few bubbles between each of the ducks. Create them by tracing a 1" and a 1 1/2" size circle per space onto white felt. Be sure to cut two circles per shape. As above, lay the bottom pieces flat between each of the ducks and hot glue them onto the baker's twine. Hot glue the top layer of each bubble to the bottom and fill each with a small amount of cotton batting and hot glue closed.

Use a small paintbrush to paint a light blue curved line onto the outer corner of the bubbles to give them a little shine. Once the paint has dried, hang the garland on the front of your dessert table.

Next, create a balloon garland to hang over the dessert table. Begin by inflating two balloons with a Hand Held Balloon Pump. Knot the two balloons together. Repeat this process. Take the two sets of balloons and wrap them around each other to form a quad. To join them all together, wrap a long length of baker's twine around them, pushing each of the quads tightly against the grouping in front of them. Continue this process until you have your desired length. We used a mix of white, yellow, clear and light blue polka dot balloons for our garland.

Download the rubber duck poster and have it printed at your preferred print shop. Our poster was printed on 36"x48" light-weight paper. Hang the poster over the dessert table using double sided foam tape. Hang the balloon garland over the poster by tying it to adhesive hooks.

Create a smaller balloon garland to tie to one side of the dessert table and one for under the dessert table for added interest. Using a paper straw, inflate a mylar rubber ducky balloon. Add a small piece of double sided foam tape to the bottom of the rubber ducky balloon and attach it to the balloon garland so the ducky looks like it's taking a bubbly bath.
