This winter I wanted a fun way to display my students' work! I find that showing off student work is a great way to motivate my kids throughout the winter months. Here's how to get started creating your own rustic winter themed bulletin board for student work.
First, measure your space for the background of your bulletin board. I used a meter stick to measure out my space then rolled out and cut some Fadeless® White Shiplap Bulletin Board Paper Roll to attach to the board.
Next, I added layers of borders to my board. This technique instantly gives more dimension and color to any board. I decided to put the Glitter Winter Trees Bulletin Board Borders on the outside because I used the colors in this border as inspiration for other details on the board. For the inside layer I used Rustic Classroom Bulletin Board Borders.
I then added all of the fans and pom poms. These pieces give the board a big pop of color! I used pushpins to attach them to the wall. The Mint Green Tissue Hanging Fans, My Mind's Eye Royal Blue Hanging Fans ,Blue & Silver Glitter Hanging Paper Fans really made my board come together and worked perfectly with the color palette I had in mind!
I used the Surebonder® Cool Shot™ Low-Temperature Mini Glue Gun to glue push-pins onto clothespins. I then used the clothespins to hold up student work. Winter Trees Glitter Bulletin Board Cutouts were then glued on top of the clothespins. These cutouts matched our existing border perfectly!
Finally, I clipped American Crafts Primary Cardstock Variety Pack to each clothespin. The cardstock papers acted as place holders or frames for student work. I hope you'll use some of these ideas and techniques to brighten up your own classroom this season!
